Code of Conduct
Effective April 1, 2026
1. Purpose
Democracy Direct exists to hold elected officials accountable through transparent, data-driven civic engagement. This Code of Conduct governs how users, contributors, and the platform itself must behave to preserve that mission.
2. User Obligations
Users must submit questions in good faith, refrain from harassment or threats toward any politician or fellow user, and not attempt to manipulate platform data, votes, or rankings through artificial means.
3. Platform Obligations
Democracy Direct commits to presenting data without editorial bias, applying consistent accountability standards across all politicians regardless of party or market, and disclosing methodology openly.
4. Content Standards
All user-submitted content is subject to automated moderation. Content that contains threats, hate speech, personal attacks, or deliberate misinformation will be removed. Repeat violations result in account suspension.
5. Data Integrity
Promise statuses, influence scores, and civic data are updated based on publicly verifiable sources. Users may flag inaccuracies via the platform. Democracy Direct reserves the right to correct data without prior notice.
6. Enforcement
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent banning at the sole discretion of Democracy Direct. Appeals may be submitted to noreply@democracy-direct.org.
7. Amendments
This Code of Conduct may be updated at any time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the current version.
